Catenaa, Friday, March 07, 2025 – Solana-powered interoperability layer Rome Protocol has integrated with Polygon Labs’ AggLayer, enabling seamless connectivity between Ethereum and Solana, the companies announced. 

The integration uses zero-knowledge (zk) technology to allow developers to build decentralized applications (dapps) that leverage Ethereum’s security and Solana’s speed. Rome’s Interop framework, Shared Sequencer, and EVM execution layer now work in conjunction with AggLayer’s zk-powered network aggregation. 

Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs, called the move “a big step toward a truly seamless, high-performance blockchain ecosystem,” allowing developers to benefit from both networks without trade-offs. The collaboration aims to improve cross-chain composability, lower latency, and enhance security. 

Rome Protocol CEO Anil Kumar said the development “drives decentralized technologies closer to mainstream adoption” by enabling more scalable and user-friendly applications. 

AggLayer, first unveiled a year ago, functions as a public infrastructure that aggregates liquidity and user bases across connected chains, utilizing Ethereum for settlement. It aims to address fragmentation and scalability challenges in blockchain technology. 

The news comes as Polygon’s ecosystem continues expanding. Blockchain infrastructure team Gateway FM recently upgraded the Prism Network to the CDK-Erigon execution client, enhancing performance and upgradability. Meanwhile, Assetera, a European blockchain-based securities exchange, has partnered with Ondo Finance to list tokenized U.S. Treasuries on its Polygon-based platform.
