Zerion Launches Testnet for Layer 2 Rollup Network ZERO

NEW YORK, Wednesday, July 3, 2024 – Crypto wallet provider Zerion announced the launch of a testnet on June 27 for its upcoming Layer 2 rollup network, ZERO.

ZERO leverages ZKSync’s ZK Stack development kit, integrating with the growing ZKSync ecosystem, which includes projects like Lens Protocol and Cronos zkEVM.

The mainnet launch for ZERO is expected later this year.

ZERO utilizes zero-knowledge proofs to achieve scalability while maintaining compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Account abstraction within the Zerion Wallet promises a more streamlined user experience. Several decentralized finance (DeFi) projects, including 1inch, Philand, and Dodo Finance, are preparing to deploy on the ZERO testnet and mainnet.

Zerion’s “Onchain DNA” system aims to mitigate potential spam and abuse by distinguishing legitimate users from bots. This open-source system encourages community contribution and improvement. Additionally, ZERO strives to offer a generally gasless experience for users, with network fees covered by a custom paymaster contract and potentially sponsored by decentralized applications (dApps).

“Building ZERO Network with the ZK Stack gives us scalability through zero-knowledge proofs, compatibility within the EVM ecosystem, and an enhanced wallet experience through account abstraction for our users,” said Evgeny Yurtaev, co-founder and CEO of Zerion.
