Catenaa, Sunday, March 23, 2025 – World, the crypto project co-founded by OpenAI’s Sam Altman, has partnered with gaming brand Razer to launch “Razer ID verified by World ID,” a proof-of-human system designed to prevent bot interference in gaming.
The initiative, announced March 17, enables gamers in 22 countries, including the U.S., Germany, Japan, and Australia, to verify their Razer ID accounts as human through World ID. The technology, a single sign-on (SSO) authentication method, ensures that real players, not AI-driven bots, are participating in multiplayer games.
The first implementation will be in the game TOKYO BEAST, where human-verified accounts will help create a fairer gaming environment. The system integrates with Razer’s broader ecosystem, including game payment services, a game booster, and customization tools.
“World ID enables gamers to distinguish between authentic human interactions and AI-generated content while safeguarding their privacy,” said Tiago Sada, Chief Product Officer at Tools for Humanity, a key contributor to World.
A recent Echelon Insights survey found that 59% of gamers regularly encounter unauthorized bots, with 71% saying they “ruin” multiplayer competition. The study revealed that 75% of gamers playing over 10 hours per week support biometric verification for human authentication.
Razer’s Chief Corporate Officer, Wei-Pin Choo, emphasized that with AI reshaping gaming, developers must be equipped to maintain fair competition. The partnership aims to ensure trusted, human-only gaming experiences, preventing unauthorized AI-driven disruptions.
