Wall Street Embraces Tokenized Assets as Market Hits $24B

In Summary

  • Tokenized real-world asset market hits $24 billion globally
  • BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, JPMorgan lead institutional adoption
  • GENIUS Act provides regulatory clarity for US digital assets
  • Real yields and on-chain efficiency drive long-term momentum

Catenaa, Tuesday, June 24, 2025- The market for tokenized real-world assets has surged past $24 billion, signaling a major shift as Wall Street banks, asset managers and tech firms intensify their on-chain strategies.1

This rapid growth, driven by rising institutional interest and the recent passage of the GENIUS Act, marks a turning point for blockchain adoption in traditional finance. US Treasuries, private credit, real estate and commodities are being tokenized at unprecedented rates, offering real yields and improved liquidity.

BlackRock’s BUIDL fund leads the charge with $2.9 billion in tokenized Treasuries, followed by Franklin Templeton’s BENJI and VanEck’s VBILL fund. Ethereum remains dominant in infrastructure, though Layer 2 solutions and zero-knowledge proofs are gaining traction for faster, secure transactions.

With 205,000 holders across 194 issuers, the market reflects rising institutional confidence. Experts say tokenization solves decades-old inefficiencies in asset management—from post-trade settlement lags to access limitations and compliance hurdles.

Private credit tokens yield up to 10%, while tokenized Treasury bills offer 4–5%, drawing investors away from volatile crypto and toward asset-backed blockchain finance. Firms like JPMorgan, Chainlink and Securitize are playing key roles in building a compliant, scalable framework.

Analysts project the market could reach $50 billion by year’s end as regulatory clarity and infrastructure mature. While risks remain, institutional capital continues to validate tokenized finance as more than a trend.
