The acquisition underscores the company’s aggressive treasury strategy amid uncertain UK crypto regulations.

Smarter Web’s year-to-date Bitcoin yield surged 26,242%, reflecting its long-term “10 Year Plan” to increase crypto reserves. The company holds roughly £42.3 million in cash available for further Bitcoin acquisitions.

Smarter Web, which specializes in web design and online marketing, has accepted Bitcoin payments since 2023 and views the cryptocurrency as vital to future global finance. The firm raised £41.2 million ($56.6 million) recently through a bookbuild and subscription to fund ongoing purchases.

Other UK-listed firms are also increasing Bitcoin treasuries despite regulatory uncertainty. Vinanz added 37.72 BTC to reach nearly 59 BTC, while Abraxas Capital bought over $250 million in Bitcoin earlier this year. Japanese firm Metaplanet further expanded its treasury with 2,205 BTC purchases, totaling 15,555 BTC worth $1.7 billion.

However, some analysts, including Glassnode’s James Check and VanEck’s Matthew Sigel, caution that easy gains from Bitcoin treasury strategies may be diminishing as the market matures.
