  • Lawmakers are addressing financial monitoring concerns with global experts
  • No special benefits or tax breaks for crypto users
  • A standard tax system will apply under the new regulations

Catenaa, Thursday, February 20, 2025 – Kyiv may implement the crypto legalization bill by this summer, a Ukrainian lawmaker Danylo Hetmantsev, said last week.

Last December Hetmantsev stated that proposed legislation would be ready for first reading by Q1 2025.

Lawmakers are further considering several issues related to crypto transactions made via financial monitoring methods with the support of international expert teams.

The reports revealed that neither a bonus nor a benefit would be provided for crypto users, whether an individual or a company.

A normal tax rate system would function with this upcoming regulated framework, Hetmantsev said.

“We want to ensure that this law passes [the Rada] by the summer of this year at the latest,” Hetmantsev explained.

The proposed legislation has been developed by the National Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

The implementation of a legalized framework is aimed at preventing tax evasion and providing a secure system for crypto users.
