Friday, August 30,2024- Presidential candidate Donald Trump, has announced on X promising to make the United States the “crypto capital” of the planet.
In his post on X, Trump announced plans to position the U.S. as the global leader in cryptocurrency, marking a significant shift in his stance.
“This afternoon, I’m laying out my plan to ensure that the United States will be the crypto capital of the planet,” Trump said in a video.
“They want to choke you. They want to choke you out of business. We’re not going to let that happen.”
Trump tagged World Liberty Financial, a decentralized finance (DeFi) project supported by his sons, in his post. The video concluded with the World Liberty Financial logo, hinting at the project’s role in his broader strategy. Trump’s sons had previously announced plans to launch “The Defiant Ones,” a cryptocurrency platform under World Liberty Financial aimed at addressing banking inequality.
The former president’s pro-crypto stance has been met with mixed reactions.
Despite the doubts, Trump has continued to solidify his presence in the crypto world, recently launching a fourth series of NFT digital trading cards.
