PENNSYLVANIA, Saturday, July 13, 2024 — Former President Donald Trump and Running Presidential candidate narrowly escaped an assassination attempt during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13th night, according to law enforcement officials.
AP reported him as sustaining a minor injury as a bullet grazed the upper part of his right ear. Trump was promptly taken offstage by Secret Service agents and transported to a local medical facility for evaluation.
The shooter, armed with an AR-style rifle, fired multiple shots from an elevated position outside the rally venue. Secret Service agents quickly neutralized the shooter, who was not an attendee.
One rally attendee was killed, and two others were critically injured, according to AP report.
The Secret Service reported that the shooter fired multiple shots from an “elevated position” outside the Trump rally before being killed by agents.
Law enforcement sources informed CNN that the shooter was on a rooftop just outside the rally venue.
Officials stated that the incident is being investigated as an attempted assassination.
