Catenaa, Monday, February 03, 2025 – Trezor last week announced the launch of its Safe 5 Freedom Edition hardware wallet, a limited-edition product designed to celebrate Bitcoin independence.
Only 2,100 units will be available for purchase starting January 30 at 15:00 UTC.
Priced at $169, the same as the standard Safe 5, this exclusive edition supports Trezor Academy, with $10 from each sale funding Bitcoin education for underserved regions.
The wallet aims to embody both symbolic and practical aspects of self-sovereignty, a core Bitcoin principle.
In a dramatic launch video, Trezor employees, Bitcoin educators, and CEO Matěj Žák promote themes of freedom and responsibility, concluding with Žák paragliding to symbolize independence.
The Safe 5 Freedom Edition mirrors the features of Trezor’s flagship device, the Safe 5 (TS5), introduced last year.
Equipped with upgraded security, a haptic color touchscreen, and improved backup options, the TS5 is available in a Bitcoin-only version.
Trezor has also expanded its services with Trezor Expert, a self-custody onboarding program launched in 2024. This initiative helps users navigate private key management, hardware wallet setup, and online security practices.
