New York, Friday, August 09, 2024-– The TON blockchain has taken steps towards user adoption by introducing gasless transactions through a new smart wallet standard, a post on TON Blog dated July 5 said.

Developed by non-custodial wallet Tonkeeper and approved by the TON Core team, the W5 standard eliminates the need for users to hold Toncoin for transaction fees.
Instead, users can leverage USDT or Notcoin for gas payments, depending on the type of transaction.
This simplifies the user experience and reduces barriers to entry, particularly for those new to the blockchain.
Beyond gasless fees, the W5 standard unlocks additional functionalities. It enables parallel processing of up to 255 transactions simultaneously, paving the way for innovative use cases. Users could potentially transfer multiple NFTs, manage decentralized subscriptions, or configure security features like two-factor authentication in one go.
The TON Foundation emphasizes the potential for mass adoption, particularly with Telegram’s vast user base.
TON facilitates transactions for popular Telegram mini-games like Notcoin and Hamster Kombat, offering “Web2 UX with all the benefits of Web3.”
This move comes amidst surging activity on the TON network. Daily active addresses have seen a significant rise in 2024, reaching over 350,000 in July, fueled by the popularity of Telegram mini-games. The W5 standard is expected to further accelerate this growth by making the TON ecosystem more accessible and user-friendly.
