Catenaa, Friday, August 15, 2025-UK-based web design and bitcoin treasury firm The Smarter Web Company announced the purchase of 295 additional bitcoins for roughly $35.2 million, bringing its total holdings to 2,395 BTC valued at approximately $284.8 million.

The acquisition, made at an average price of $119,412 per bitcoin, continues the company’s rapid accumulation of bitcoin, placing it 23rd among public bitcoin treasury holders globally.

The purchase follows a recent £7.6 million capital raise via new share placements and is part of the company’s ongoing strategy to expand its bitcoin treasury and grow shareholder value.

The firm has bought more than 1,500 BTC during July alone and aims to enter the top 20 public bitcoin holders within weeks, CEO Andrew Webley said.

With bitcoin trading near $118,917, The Smarter Web Company’s bitcoin investment is up around 7.6% or $20 million on paper. The firm retains close to $942,000 in cash for further deployments.

Founded as a web services provider, the company adopted a bitcoin treasury policy in April 2025, believing in bitcoin’s role in the future financial system.

It is listed on the UK’s Aquis Stock Exchange under the ticker SWC. Its market cap currently stands at $415 million, with a market cap-to-net asset value ratio slightly below that of leading bitcoin treasury firm Strategy.

The Smarter Web Company joins other major holders such as Strategy, Marathon Digital, Tether-backed Twenty One, and Coinbase in publicly accumulating large bitcoin reserves.
