Catenaa, Sunday, June 01, 2025-Solana Mobile, a unit of blockchain developer Solana Labs, announced Wednesday it will launch its own SKR token and introduce a decentralized infrastructure, while confirming its next-generation crypto smartphone, the Seeker, will ship August 4.
The SKR token will underpin incentives and ownership across Solana Mobile’s ecosystem.
It will be distributed directly to users, developers and hardware partners to foster a decentralized model that moves away from centralized control, the company said.
At the core of the platform is TEEPIN, short for Trusted Execution Environment Platform Infrastructure Network, a decentralized, cryptographic architecture built to secure mobile access without relying on a central authority.
Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko said TEEPIN aims to unlock platform ownership and innovation using secure components already present in smartphones.
General Manager Emmett Hollyer said SKR will enable “stakeholders to become active stewards” rather than passive users of the ecosystem.
The firm envisions a self-sustaining mobile platform shaped by community participation.
Alongside the infrastructure rollout, Solana Mobile confirmed that the Seeker, its second crypto-native smartphone, will begin shipping globally in August.
The device, formerly codenamed “Chapter Two,” is a follow-up to the Solana Saga and has already drawn more than 150,000 preorders across 57 countries at a promotional price of $500.
The Seeker features a built-in Seed Vault, Genesis Token, upgraded dApp store, Seeker ID, and a Seed Vault Wallet, all designed to enhance Web3-native mobile experiences on Solana’s blockchain.
