Catenaa, Friday, August 08, 2025-Solana Mobile has begun shipping its second-generation Seeker smartphones to buyers in more than 50 countries, marking a major expansion of its push into blockchain-enabled mobile devices.

The company said “tens of thousands” of units are leaving warehouses as global deliveries ramp up.

Seeker, priced at $450, succeeds the Solana Saga phone and comes with built-in crypto functionality.

Features include the Seed Vault hardware security module for private key storage, a native Solana dApp Store, and a soulbound Genesis Token that grants early access to apps and SKR token rewards.

The phone’s launch builds on Saga’s first-generation model, which gained traction after a BONK token airdrop in 2023 boosted user demand.

The Solana dApp Store currently lists over 100 decentralized applications spanning DeFi, payments, gaming, and social platforms, with future integrations planned for AI and decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) services.

Each Seeker handset automatically generates its own Genesis Token, continuing the reward model that helped Saga attract crypto enthusiasts.

Solana’s new phone reflects a broader effort to merge mobile technology with blockchain ecosystems, offering mainstream users a crypto-native device at a lower price point than its $1,000 predecessor.

Industry analysts note that while earlier blockchain phones, like HTC’s Exodus 1 and Sirin Labs’ Finney, struggled for adoption, Solana’s strategy of incentives and ecosystem integration has given it a competitive edge.
