Siemens Teams Up With Minima to Secure IoT With Blockchain

In Summary

  • Siemens partners with Minima to enhance IoT security.
  • Minima’s blockchain tech enables tamper-proof data & autonomy.
  • IoT devices act as full nodes, reducing central dependencies.
  • Supports EU Chips Act, strengthening Europe’s tech leadership.

Catenaa, Saturday, March 29, 2025-Siemens AG has partnered with blockchain firm Minima to embed decentralized security in its automotive, robotics, and energy Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

The partnership, announced March 18, aims to integrate Minima’s layer-1 blockchain into Siemens’ IoT infrastructure, ensuring tamper-proof data integrity and autonomous device operations.

Minima’s technology allows IoT equipment to operate as independent full nodes, eliminating reliance on centralized intermediaries.

The partnership aligns with the European Chips Act’s sovereignty goals, reinforcing Europe’s leadership in semiconductor and blockchain applications.

The act, enacted in 2023, allocated €43 billion for technological advancement.

Minima’s system enables every smart meter, substation, and energy grid component to function as a full node, providing independent verification and data protection.

The companies claim this approach can prevent large-scale cyberattacks that could cripple power distribution networks.
