Catenaa, Sunday, July 20, 2025-TheUS-based tech firm SharpLink has become the world’s largest corporate holder of Ethereum after purchasing 74,656 ETH between July 7 and July 13.

The $213 million acquisition brings the company’s total ETH holdings to 280,706, positioning it ahead of other corporate entities with significant on-chain exposure.

The company acquired the tokens at an average price of $2,852 per ETH. SharpLink has staked nearly 99.7% of its holdings, generating approximately 415 ETH in staking rewards since June 2.

The company has not disclosed its staking providers, though the scale suggests partnerships with major infrastructure platforms.

SharpLink began executing its Ethereum treasury strategy in late May, shortly after raising $425 million in a private placement led by Consensys. Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, who heads Consensys, also took over as SharpLink’s chairman during the period. The investment reflects a calculated pivot toward blockchain infrastructure and passive income from staking.

The ETH purchases come amid a rise in Ethereum concentration among institutional players, with top holder accumulation increasing 23% since June 13. Analysts say SharpLink’s move underscores a shifting preference toward Ethereum’s income-generating capabilities and decentralized applications.

While Bitcoin remains dominant among corporate treasuries, Ethereum’s versatility in smart contracts and DeFi is drawing increased institutional capital. SharpLink, which trades under the ticker $SBET, has not yet detailed how the ETH holdings fit into its broader corporate roadmap.
