Catenaa, Wednesday, April 09, 2025-The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will hold a high-profile crypto regulation roundtable Friday (11), bringing together executives from Coinbase, Cumberland DRW, and Uniswap Labs — firms the agency previously targeted in lawsuits.

The event, titled “Between a Block and a Hard Place: Tailoring Regulation for Crypto Trading,” is part of an ongoing effort by the SEC’s crypto task force to refine regulatory frameworks for digital assets. Friday’s discussion will take place at SEC headquarters and will be livestreamed to the public.

anelists include Katherine Minarik, chief legal officer of Uniswap Labs; Gregory Tusar, Coinbase’s vice president of institutional product; and Chelsea Pizzola, associate general counsel at Cumberland DRW. Remarks will also be delivered by SEC Acting Chair Mark Uyeda and Commissioners Caroline Crenshaw and Hester Peirce, the latter of whom leads the agency’s crypto task force.

“Hearing the public’s concerns and suggestions helps the SEC create a clear, sensible, and fair path forward for the crypto industry,” Peirce said in a statement Monday.

The roundtable follows a notable shift in enforcement posture. The SEC dropped its lawsuits against Coinbase and Cumberland DRW earlier this year, signaling a softer regulatory tone under the Trump administration. Additional crypto-focused roundtables are planned through June, covering crypto custody, tokenization, and decentralized finance.

The roundtable marks the SEC’s second in a five-part series aimed at navigating the rapidly evolving crypto landscape while balancing investor protections.
