Scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. at SEC headquarters, the session aims to convene experts developing tools to protect individual privacy and help regulators understand policy implications.
Commissioners emphasized the importance of privacy-protecting technologies for safeguarding sensitive financial data and mitigating risks from malicious actors.
The announcement follows the SEC’s recent launch of a Cross-Border Task Force to consolidate investigative efforts against transnational fraud and market manipulation.
The Crypto Task Force has also been focusing on defining a clear regulatory framework for digital assets and enhancing enforcement against intermediaries such as auditors and underwriters enabling foreign entities to access US capital markets.
