Tokyo, Wednesday, May 29, 2024 – The crypto asset exchange provider, SBI VC Trade Corporation, is set to use XRP Ledger to issue NFTs for the coming World EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet NFTs in Osaka, Japan, according to a press release.
The NFTs will be distributed at the start of the event on April 13, 2025.
SBI Group companies have engaged with the XRP Ledger since its standard functions are supportive for business purposes such as cross-border payment solutions, and they are now expecting to use XRP ledger as the blockchain network for World EXPO 2025.
The world EXPO will be held from April to October 2025.
NFTs of MYAKU-MYAKU, the official figures of the Expo, will be available to earn for the participants after the completion of tasks, while additional NFTs are available on the mobile app of the Expo. 1
Earlier, it was announced on May 10 that SBI VC Trade initiated its operations on XRP Ledger as a validator, aiming to be enlisted among the trusted validators approved by the XRP Ledger foundation.
The new rollup would contribute to expanding the XRP ledger infrastructure within Japan, while the EXPO will attract millions of participants.
Nevertheless, with SBI’s announcement of NFT availability at the upcoming EXPO, several American firms, like PayPal, revealed their exclusion of NFT buying from their wallets, waving the red flag.
