Friday, October 4, 2024 – Chinese-linked hackers had breached several US internet service providers within the past months, the Street Wall journal reported. 

The hack known as “Salt Typhoon” had intended to access the sensitive data stored in US telecommunication companies, whereas the previous attacks had been aimed to weaken the infrastructure, investigators explained.

Salt Typhoon is the latest cyberattack reported with Chinese-linked involvement in recent years.

The FBI  had disrupted more than 200 000 routers, including cameras and other connected devices used by Flax Typhoon a week ago this cyberattack.
