Catenaa, Friday, March 14, 2025 – Ripple Labs has announced its involvement in the creation of the National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA), a nonprofit aimed at educating Americans on how cryptocurrency empowers individuals and businesses. The organization, which Ripple is funding with a $50 million grant, will focus on spreading awareness about the adoption of crypto. Stuart Alderoty, Ripple’s Chief Legal Officer, will serve as the NCA’s president while maintaining his role at the blockchain firm.
In a March 5 post, Alderoty highlighted the NCA’s mission to help Americans understand cryptocurrency, emphasizing the need for accurate information about its benefits. The organization is not explicitly involved in political action but pledged to keep the public informed about future developments in the crypto space.
Ripple has previously contributed $45 million to Fairshake, a political action committee aimed at influencing voters during the 2024 US elections. Alderoty himself donated $300,000 to a committee supporting then-presidential candidate Donald Trump. Ripple’s leadership has maintained strong political ties, with CEO Brad Garlinghouse planning to attend a crypto summit at the White House on March 7.
The launch of the NCA comes as Ripple continues to battle the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in appellate court. Despite the SEC’s drop of several cases against crypto firms, the legal dispute with Ripple remains ongoing, with a $125 million judgment still in effect.
