Catenaa, Monday, June 02, 2025-Blockchain developer Psy has launched the first trustless bridge connecting Dogecoin and Solana, allowing seamless interaction between the proof-of-work memecoin and Solana’s high-speed smart contract platform.
Announced Thursday, the bridge enables both blockchains to verify each other’s transactions without relying on third-party custodians.
The move allows Dogecoin holders to access Solana’s decentralized finance, gaming, and NFT ecosystems while giving Solana developers access to Dogecoin’s $36 billion market and active user base.
Built in partnership with cross-chain protocol Wormhole, the bridge captures Dogecoin block headers-including proof-of-work consensus-and verifies them directly on Solana. In return, the system mints equivalent QDOGE tokens on Solana, which can be burned to redeem native DOGE.
Wormhole’s messaging infrastructure ensures secure asset transfer between chains, eliminating the need for multi-signature or centralized bridge operators-long a vulnerability in cross-chain systems.
Solana Foundation President Lily Liu welcomed the development, saying it reflects the network’s goal of blending on-chain culture with decentralized finance.
Psy also launched a suite of open-source Dogecoin developer tools to support the bridge, including a block explorer, JavaScript SDK, and fork simulation tools.
The trustless bridge marks a technical milestone in interoperability, positioning Psy as a key innovator uniting proof-of-work and proof-of-stake networks without compromising security.
