Catenaa, Tuesday, April 08, 2025- Oasys, a leading blockchain platform backed by Japan’s SBI Group, has announced a strategic partnership with AnimeChain.ai, aiming to enhance the anime industry through blockchain-based intellectual property (IP) protection.
The collaboration seeks to tackle growing concerns about unauthorized use of IP and copyright infringement, especially as generative AI technologies are accelerating creative production in the anime sector.
The alliance combines Oasys’s blockchain expertise with AnimeChain’s AI-driven solutions, focusing on safeguarding creators’ IP in an evolving digital landscape.
The two companies will conduct proof-of-concept trials to explore ways to protect IP rights for businesses and creators. The partnership’s goal is to ensure that creators retain control over their works while benefiting from the innovative potential of AI technologies.
Shuhei Mise, General Manager of AnimeChain FZCO, emphasized the importance of maintaining creators’ roles in the creative process. “AI should serve as a tool to expand creativity, not replace it,” Mise said.
The collaboration also aligns with Japan’s rich legacy of IP in gaming and anime, with Oasys leveraging its blockchain infrastructure to create new opportunities for tokenization while securing creators’ rights. Ryo Matsubara, Director of Oasys, stressed that this partnership addresses the risks AI poses to copyright protections.
