Catenaa, Thursday, December 19, 2024 – Crypto Man, the South Korean movie, will be released on January 15, 2025, according to reports.
The movie is based on a real-world crypto crash that led to a 50 trillion won ($35 billion) loss.
The Korean version of the movie is Plummet/Fall, where the main role is played by the deceased actor Song Jae-rim.
The filmmakers predict that it would attract the movie to a larger audience.
In early November, the actor committed suicide in his home in Seoul. He was 39 at the time of his death.
In addition to the main plot of the crypto crash, the subplots related to “startup investments, stock day trading, and get-rich-quick crypto schemes” will run at its ground.
The story is woven around the main character Yang Do-yun, a techie who developed a fictitious altcoin named MOMMY.
The film director is of the opinion that along with comedy scenes, the movie will bring a realistic perspective on digital assets.
Recently, in 2021, many similar productions based on crypto have been cast as the interest of South Koreans towards digital assets is growing.
