New York, Sunday, June 30, 2024 –  Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM), announced  on June 26 that it is adopting the GenAI tool Debrief, the note-taking assistant.

Debrief, the program resembling that of a co-worker would save time during meetings for financial advisors

The AI-powered tool will summarize the main points of the discussion, draft emails to lighten the advisor’s workload, and save the notes into Salesforce, according to the press release.

“What we’re finding is that the quality and depth of the notes are just significantly better,” Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, Jeff McMillan, stated. 1

The program is designed with OpenAI’s GPT-4.

The program will be applied with the consent of the clients who will attend the meetings.

“This advancement is designed to enhance—not replace—our employees’ roles, empowering them to focus on strategic and high-value tasks. We believe in a future where technology amplifies human potential,” the Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, Jeff McMillan, posted. 2

An advisor at Morgan Stanley, an attendee of the pilot test of Debrief, commented that the program saved 30 minutes of work per meeting.

It is expected that the AI powered program will be operational by early July among approximately 15,000 advisors.

Morgan Stanley Assistant, another AI tool, launched in September 2023

It is reported that the feedback was positive.

As Debrief is still in its infancy, updates will be released, offering more features that enable the advisor to use the program on corporate devices during in-person meetings.
