San Francisco, Wednesday, February 28, 2024 – Digital wallet service MetaMask, the default transaction feature for extension across multiple networks, announced on February 20 their partnership with Blockaid to upgrade the privacy-preserving security feature.
The unique upgrade will restrict sharing transactions with a third party, offering essential scam alerts.
The observation of a +55% surge in MetaMask users within the last six months and the identification of attacks on MetaMask high profile users in December compelled the MetaMask team to secure the digital wallet for the users from scammers, MetaMask reported. 1
Reports said that the security alerts exclusive to extension users on Ethereum initiated in October 2023 were a great success, and its upgraded privacy level will be offered to extension users in more networks, ensuring their digital wallet.
It is expected to enable the default on mobile soon, moving a step forward.
The networks of Ethereum, Linea, BNB chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Avalanche will be covered by the new feature.
