Seoul, Thursday, March 7, 2024- LG Electronics (LG) announced on February 28, 2024, their alliance with Meta Platform, Inc. (Meta) in the expansion of Extended Reality (XR). The integration is aimed at strengthening the inclusive services offered by both companies, driving inventive ecosystems in the virtual background. 1
The decision was taken after the meeting, which was conducted by LG’s top management with the founder and CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, in Seoul, considering business strategies and the development of next-generation XR devices, one source reported.
LG reported that the potential in the TV business would accelerate in the XR domain with the integration that aligns with the Meta platform.
The combination of the diversified technological elements of Meta and the products of LG would remarkably contribute to the next-generation development of XR devices, the top management of LG Electricals assumed.
“We see opportunities for next-gen personal devices in the XR business arena,” CEO of LG Electricals, Dr. Cho, stated, denoting the requirement of wearable devices that widen customer interactions. 1
