Catenaa, Monday, May 26, 2025- NEXPACE, a blockchain venture backed by gaming giant Nexon, has officially launched MapleStory N, a Web3 adaptation of the long-standing MapleStory franchise, along with the NXPC token now trading on major global exchanges.

The launch, announced May 15, introduces blockchain features to the 23-year-old IP for the first time. MapleStory N retains the nostalgic 2D gameplay of the original MMORPG while integrating on-chain mechanics such as NFTs, player-owned economies and a decentralized content ecosystem.

NXPC, the native token, debuted on seven major exchanges, including Binance, Upbit, and KuCoin, positioning itself among the most successful Web3 gaming token launches to date.

MapleStory Universe (MSU), the broader platform supporting MapleStory N, allows players to earn, trade, and own in-game assets.

Through its Fusion-Fission system, users can convert NXPC into NFT collections and vice versa, aiming to curb inflation and sustain value.

The system also incentivizes creators through contributor rewards tied to community engagement and content development.

NEXPACE CEO Sunyoung Hwang said the launch addresses key flaws in traditional games, such as item inflation and centralized control, by enabling real asset ownership and a decentralized digital economy driven by player contribution.

Built on Avalanche via AvaCloud, MapleStory N has already attracted over 1 million NFT mints in its OpenSea campaign and helped spike Avalanche network activity.

Available on PC, it marks the first title in NEXPACE’s planned expansion of Nexon’s gaming portfolio into Web3. The project is part of a broader shift toward player-led ecosystems and blockchain-native gameplay.
