Catenaa, Monday, May 26, 2025-Hardware wallet giant Ledger has launched a special edition of its flagship Ledger Flex device, tailored exclusively for the Solana community.
The Ledger Flex Solana Edition matches the technical specs of its standard counterpart but offers custom blue and green designs and unique digital perks aimed at deepening community engagement.
The standout feature: each wallet comes with a non-transferable Soulbound Token (SBT)—a concept co-created by Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin to represent digital identity and affiliations in the Web3 space.
Owners of these tokens will qualify for future rewards and airdrops, although specific benefits remain undisclosed.
“This is really community-focused,” said Ian Rogers, Ledger’s Chief Experience Officer. “It’s a way for you to say, ‘Hey, I’m part of the Ledger Solana community.’”
The wallet will roll out in four phases:
Phase 1: Exclusive to current Solana SBT holders (e.g., Solana Saga and Seeker Genesis owners), includes a $70 SOL rebate and magnetic folio.
Phase 2: Offers a $50 SOL voucher and magnetic folio for a broader pool of Solana-affiliated users.
Phase 3: Open to users holding SOL in Ledger Live, includes $20 in SOL.
General Release: Available on Ledger.com, all buyers still receive the Solana SBT.
The device features E Ink touchscreen, Bluetooth, NFC, and the proprietary Ledger OS, enhancing self-custody and mobile usability.
This release comes ahead of the Solana Seeker smartphone launch, which also ties user identity to Soulbound Tokens and has previously triggered lucrative rewards like the 2022 BONK airdrop.
