Catenaa, Friday, July 04, 2025-New York-based asset manager KraneShares has filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission to list a “Coinbase 50 Index ETF,” which will track the 50 largest digital assets by market capitalization.

The filing marks another step in the growing trend of crypto index ETFs entering mainstream investment channels.

The Coinbase 50 Index, launched in late 2024 by the largest US crypto exchange, is rebalanced quarterly.

Its current top three holdings include Bitcoin at 50%, Ethereum at about 21%, and XRP at 9%.

The ETF would offer investors diversified exposure to major cryptocurrencies through a single product.

ETF Store President Nate Geraci said on X that the filing signals a likely surge in crypto index ETF proposals as investor demand grows.

Founded in 2023, KraneShares specializes in alternative investments including China-focused funds and environmental assets. The firm is majority-owned by China International Capital Corporation, a leading Chinese financial services company.
