Astar Startale Labs announce Web3 partnership with Japanese KDDI

SINGAPORE, Oct. 30, 2023: Singapore-based Astar Network and Startale Labs on Tuesday, October 24, that they have partnered with Japanese telecom giant KDDI to explore new business opportunities in blockchain technology and Web3 applications.1

The partnership will focus on developing innovative customer experiences in KDDI’s “αU” market, which includes Web3 services such as “αU market” and “αU wallet.”

Astar Network is a scaling solution for Ethereum that uses Zero-Knowledge Proofs to improve transaction speed and scalability.

KDDI is one of the largest telecommunications companies in Japan, with over 50 million subscribers.

The partnership is a significant development for Web3 adoption in Japan. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has expressed support for digital finance and Web3, and said that NFTs and DAOs can help support Japan’s national strategy, dubbed “Cool Japan.”
