Catenaa, Tuesday, Mach 25, 2025-Hyundai Motor Group revealed a $21 billion investment in the US alongside President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday, marking a significant expansion of its American manufacturing presence.

The investment includes a $5.8 billion Hyundai Steel plant in Louisiana, projected to produce 2.7 million metric tons of steel annually and create over 1,400 jobs. The facility will supply Hyundai and Kia’s auto plants in Alabama and Georgia.

Hyundai also committed $9 billion to expand US vehicle production to 1.2 million units annually and $6 billion toward strategic partnerships in autonomous driving, robotics, artificial intelligence, and advanced air mobility.

Additionally, the company will hold an opening ceremony Wednesday March 27, 2025 for its $7.59 billion car and battery factory in Georgia, increasing vehicle production capacity by 300,000 units.

The announcement coincides with Trump’s push for new tariffs, which could impact South Korean manufacturers.

Hyundai also pledged to buy $3 billion worth of US liquefied natural gas. The investment follows a broader trend of corporate spending since Trump’s return to office, though some of these commitments include previously announced plans.
