Catenaa, Friday, December 20, 2024 – HashKey Group, a Hong Kong-based blockchain firm, officially launched the mainnet of its Ethereum layer-2 solution, HashKey Chain, following a successful testnet phase.
During the month-long testnet, HashKey Chain recorded over 24.72 million transactions, registered more than 860,000 wallet addresses, and deployed 50 projects, according to the company.
The mainnet boasts transaction speeds of up to 400 transactions per second and gas fees as low as 0.1 gwei.
As of launch day, the platform processed over 43,300 transactions in 24 hours, with gas fees averaging 0.001 gwei.
The initiative aligns with Hong Kong’s push to establish itself as a leader in crypto and blockchain innovation in the Asia-Pacific region.
The launch coincides with legislative developments in Hong Kong, where lawmakers reviewed a bill regulating stablecoins. Additionally, the Securities Futures Commission approved four new virtual asset trading platforms, further solidifying Hong Kong’s stance as a crypto-friendly hub.
HashKey Chain’s debut is expected to strengthen blockchain infrastructure, providing scalable, cost-effective solutions for developers and enterprises looking to innovate on a compliant public blockchain.
