Catenaa, Monday, April 14, 2025-Grayscale Investments has appointed Diana Zhang as its new chief operating officer, effective May 6, the company announced Wednesday.
Zhang, a veteran in asset management and crypto investment, will succeed outgoing COO Hugh Ross.
Zhang will report directly to CEO Peter Mintzberg and will be responsible for expanding strategic partnerships and strengthening Grayscale’s presence in the digital asset space. Her hiring comes at a time when Grayscale is navigating intense competition in the crypto ETF market and expanding its investment offerings.
Prior to joining Grayscale, Zhang served as COO at BlockTower Capital and spent 16 years at Bridgewater Associates, holding several senior executive roles. Her extensive background in traditional finance and crypto positions her to help steer Grayscale’s operations during a period of evolving regulation and heightened investor demand.
Grayscale operates the third-largest spot bitcoin ETF and the second-largest spot ether ETF. The firm also manages 28 other crypto investment vehicles, offering exposure to assets including Dogecoin, AVAX and Lido DAO. In 2024, it launched a decentralized AI-focused fund aimed at tackling issues in centralized AI systems.
The firm did not offer further comment on Zhang’s appointment beyond its initial release.
