Catenaa, Wednesday, November 20, 2024 – A fraudulent app impersonating the popular decentralized finance (DeFi) platform, Curve Finance, has reappeared on Apple’s App Store, reports said late last week.

This marks the third time the scam app has been listed this year, despite previous removals. The app, which closely mimics Curve Finance’s interface and logo, has been luring unsuspecting users, leading to significant financial losses.

First flagged on October 26, the fake app ranked among the top 100 finance apps on the App Store.

Users have reported unauthorized withdrawals and funds disappearing without a trace. One user stated that their funds “disappeared without a trace” after investing through the app.

Reviews highlight unresponsive customer support and unauthorized activity linked to the app.

In response to the latest discovery, Curve Finance has warned its users, clarifying that it has no official app and no plans to launch one.

They advised users to remain cautious and only use verified platforms for transactions.

The incident follows a similar scam involving a fake crypto wallet app on Google Play, which drained over $70,000 from users earlier this year.
