Catenaa, Friday, September 05, 2025- Eric Trump praised China’s influence in cryptocurrency while reaffirming his belief that bitcoin will reach $1 million, speaking at the Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong on Friday.

Trump, son of US President Donald Trump, told attendees that China and Hong Kong remain central to the global bitcoin industry, despite mainland China banning trading and mining in 2021.

He called the country a “hell of a power” in the sector, citing continued peer-to-peer activity and Hong Kong’s regulated approach to digital assets.

He also credited the Middle East and South America for their growing roles, but said the United States is “winning the digital revolution” after passing stablecoin rules and creating a national bitcoin reserve under his father’s administration.

Trump, who now spends most of his time in the crypto industry, pointed to his own ventures, including American Bitcoin with Hut 8 and advisory work with Japanese bitcoin treasury firm Metaplanet.

He said his family’s push into digital assets accelerated after banks cut ties with Trump businesses during the Biden administration.

At the event, he encouraged long-term holding, describing bitcoin as “the greatest asset in the world.” Bitcoin was trading around $110,000 on Friday, down 12 percent from its all-time high earlier this month.

The conference also highlighted Hong Kong’s role as Beijing’s testing ground for digital asset policy, even as Washington and Beijing prepare for high-level talks on trade and other issues.
