Catenaa, Thursday, February 20 – Dubai will once again be the host city for the Middle East Blockchain Awards (MEBA) on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, following the success of its inaugural edition.
Details can be found here.
The prestigious event will take place at the Jumeirah Burj Al Arab and coincide with the TOKEN2049 conference, bringing together industry leaders to celebrate blockchain and cryptocurrency achievements.
MEBA arrives as the MENA region experiences explosive growth in blockchain adoption, positioning it as the world’s seventh-largest cryptocurrency market.
Between July 2023 and June 2024, the region accounted for 7.5% of global transaction volume, receiving over $338 billion in on-chain value. The UAE, particularly Dubai, has emerged as a global leader in digital asset adoption. The country saw $34 billion in cryptocurrency inflows from June 2023 to July 2024, marking a 42% year-on-year growth.
Max Palethorpe, CEO of Hoko Group, the event’s organizers, emphasized the role of MEBA in recognizing trailblazers in blockchain innovation.
“With the UAE leading the charge in Web 3.0, it’s inspiring to see industry leaders shaping the future of blockchain,” Palethorpe said.
The event will feature a distinguished panel of judges, including Dr. Marwan Al Zarouni, CEO of Dubai Blockchain Centre, and notable figures from the blockchain space. Submissions for MEBA 2025 are now open at www.mebawards.io.
MEBA aims to set new standards and spotlight transformative blockchain projects across the region.
