Catenaa, Thursday, September 18, 2025-Decentraland announced its annual Art Week will return September 24–27, featuring more than 30 global artists under the theme “TOUCH GRASS.” The free four-day festival will transform the virtual world into a landscape of immersive installations, workshops, and fashion collaborations designed to explore human presence within digital spaces.
Headlined by artists including Sara Shakeel and Johanna Jaskowska, the program will combine large-scale builds with educational sessions for creators. The theme reflects a growing push to blend sensory and emotional experiences with digital art, according to festival organizers.
Each day of the event has a distinct focus: starting with creation in 3D worlds, moving to recognition and exhibition opportunities, exploring artificial intelligence tools for art, and closing with a recap and celebration. Organizers said the workshops aim to give both beginners and professionals practical ways to engage with virtual platforms.
In addition to installations, Decentraland has teamed up with Digital Fashion Week for activations in New York and London ahead of the festival. Runway events, projection-mapped showrooms, and interactive booths will preview fashion designs that later transition into wearable assets for Decentraland avatars.
Among the headline works, Shakeel’s glittering environment “The Forgotten Sense” reflects on lost human connections, while Jaskowska’s “Synthetic Rest” examines intimacy in the digital age. Other featured artists include Amber Vittoria, Clara Bacou, and Micah Alhadeff, whose installations will remain live for months after the festival.
Decentraland described Art Week as an open invitation for creators and audiences to participate in shaping future cultural spaces online. Participants can join by downloading the platform and customizing avatars before exploring the exhibits.
