Catenaa, Thursday, February 06, 2025 – Web3 domain infrastructure firm D3 Global has raised $25 million in a Series A funding round led by Paradigm Capital, the company announced Wednesday, January 29.

The round included participation from Coinbase Ventures, Polygon Labs co-founder Sandeep Nailwal, HubSpot founder Dharmesh Shah, and Namecheap CEO Richard Kirkendall.

D3 is developing tools to integrate traditional web domains with blockchain-based financial applications, enabling domain-based lending, fractional ownership, and digital identity solutions.

The company plans to use the funding to launch Doma Protocol, a decentralized network that connects web2 domain extensions such as .com and .net with web3-centric ones like .shib and .ape.

Internet domains have long been a valuable asset class,” said D3.

“For the first time in nearly three decades, we have the opportunity to modernize and transform the domain industry with the Doma Protocol,” it said.

The investment follows D3’s $5 million seed round in September 2023, led by Shima Capital. The company aims to establish domain tokenization as a new asset class, bridging traditional internet domains with decentralized finance.
