Crypto Startups See Surge, VC Firms Invest $485M in February


Thursday, March 14, 2024: According to DefiLlama data, several cryptocurrency startups invested $486 million in February. 1

It was an increase of 5.3% from the previous month and was the highest investment in the last quarter.

“The venture capital company, A16z, had invested the month’s highest investment in a crypto startup, investing $100 million into EigenLayer in a private funding round,” EigenLayer posted on X.

The payment platform Oobit received $25 million from Tether and CMCC Global in the Series A funding round.

EtherFi received $27 million from the Bullish and CoinFund-led funding rounds.

Superform Labs raised $6.5 million in a seed funding round in collaboration with Polychain Capital.

Under Omega’s scheme, a private round of $6 million had been invested in blockchain technology and borderless capital to create the DeFi ecosystem.

The Web3-focused apps raised $18 million, which included the $7 million contributed by Samsung Next and Hashkey Capital.

Fueled by the fundraising, the gaming industry made $33 million in investments in startup gaming businesses.
