Catenaa, Tuesday, December 10, 2024 – Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis has appointed co-founder Jonathan Levin as its Chief Executive Officer, effective December 3, 2024.
Levin, previously the company’s Chief Strategy Officer, succeeds Michael Gronager, who is stepping down from both his role and the board.
Levin, an economist and recognized authority on cryptocurrency, co-founded Chainalysis in 2014. Over the past decade, he has shaped the company’s strategy, corporate development, and policy efforts. Known for advising governments and enterprises on blockchain technology, Levin has also testified before the U.S. Congress on national security and digital assets.
Chainalysis said it was aiming to bring trust and transparency to cryptocurrencies it said.
The company also announced the addition of Paul Auvil, a veteran finance executive, to its board as an independent director. Auvil, the former CFO of Proofpoint and VMware, will serve as Chair of the Audit Committee. He currently holds board positions with other tech companies, including Cerebras and Elastic.
Gronager expressed pride in Chainalysis’ achievements and confidence in Levin’s leadership. Sari Granat, the company’s interim CEO, will return to her role as President and COO.
