Catenaa, Saturday, August 30, 2025- Anchorage Digital, the federally chartered crypto custody unicorn, announced Monday the launch of Anchorage Digital Ventures, a venture unit focused on funding and supporting early-stage onchain protocols.

The program will provide capital, strategic guidance, and operational support to protocol teams aiming to launch “institutional-ready from day one,” the firm said.

Anchorage, last valued at over $3 billion in its 2021 Series D round, is targeting projects in Bitcoin DeFi, real-world assets, decentralized identity, and other foundational infrastructure for institutional adoption.

Selected teams will receive modest funding, one-on-one mentorship with Anchorage’s product and engineering staff, structured access to market makers, and liquidity strategy support.

Anchorage emphasized that projects integrated with its platform will be immediately available to institutional clients.

The move comes amid a subdued crypto venture capital environment, even as broader crypto markets rally. Anchorage joins other major crypto infrastructure firms, including Coinbase Ventures and Circle Ventures, which have increasingly backed early-stage teams to bolster their ecosystems.

Co-founder and CEO Nathan McCauley said the initiative is designed to remove barriers for protocols entering the market, positioning them for long-term success.

Applications for Anchorage Digital Ventures are open, with select founders invited to present at an invite-only demo day during Token2049 in Singapore this October.

Grant recipients will be announced on a rolling basis, signaling a continued commitment to shaping the next generation of institutional-ready crypto infrastructure.
