Catena, Tuesday, May 13, 2025-1kx and Blockchain Capital have led a $30 million Series A funding round for Camp Network, a Layer 1 blockchain focused on intellectual property (IP).
The round also saw participation from Lattice, TrueBridge, Maven 11, Hypersphere, OKX, and Paper Ventures.
The investment will help scale Camp Network’s blockchain, which enables users to register and tokenize intellectual property on-chain, train and deploy AI agents, and participate in distributions for the use of agents trained on their IP.
This innovative system aims to create a transparent and enforceable way for creators to interact with their intellectual property.
The Camp team, driven by concerns over artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on creators, aims to build the world’s largest repository of user-owned IP.
Their goal is to offer a marketplace for “rights-cleared training data” so autonomous agents can be developed while compensating creators fairly.
The Layer 1 network uses a unique “proof of provenance” consensus mechanism to register IP on-chain, recording provenance, usage rights, and attribution when the data is used in derivative works. It also enables AI agents to interact with user-owned IP in a way that automates monetization for the contributors.
Camp Network’s system supports isolated execution environments, allowing developers to launch app chains with tailored blockspace and compute settings. The network is launching with 15 live decentralized applications (dApps).
