Ethereum Client Near, Eigen Layer Fast Finality Now Live

Wednesday, May 15, 2024 – Nethermind, an Ethereum client, announced that it would participate in NEAR Protocol’s Fast Finality Layer (NFFL) initiative.1

This collaboration aims to enhance decentralized applications and smart contracts amid increasing adoption of Ethereum Layer 2 solutions. Despite advancements in scalability, challenges like liquidity fragmentation and high finality times continue to affect user experience.

The innovative layer, NFFL, powered by the NEAR Protocol, would meet the requirements of ETH Layer 2, providing quick transaction finality and increasing interoperability.

It is expected that the NFFL will resolve ZK-rollups.

The features applied for fortification of the ETH network and the validator guarantees provided by the NEAR Protocol would enable NFFL to deliver a fundamental change in DeFi and dApps, according to the source.

Experts say that fast cross-roll-up communications support and defragmentation action on liquidity would enhance the NFFL’s performance.

The initiative of NFFL is expected to speed up transactions and reduce waiting times, paving the path for developing apps that easily collate with the several Layer 2 infrastructures, ensuring speed and security.

The new venture would improve the user experience and unlock new opportunities for developers related to decentralized apps, including DeFi, and gaming, revolutionizing the Web3 ecosystem. With the accurate functionality of the NFFL, apps and assets roam the blockchain ecosystem, unifying with ample platforms.
