SAN BRUNO, California – November 9, 2023 – YouTube, a subsidiary of Google, is currently testing a new AI tool designed to enhance viewer engagement and provide a more personalized experience.1 This tool, known as the “conversational AI tool,” is being rolled out to a select group of users on Android devices and is expected to be available to all YouTube Premium members in the United States soon.
The conversational AI tool allows viewers to ask questions about the videos they are watching and receive immediate responses from the AI. Additionally, the tool can provide recommendations for related videos based on the viewer’s interests. This feature is intended to help viewers discover new content that they may enjoy.
YouTube is also experimenting with using AI to organize comment sections of long-form videos into themes and topics. This feature aims to make it easier for viewers to find the information they are looking for in the comments and to engage in meaningful discussions with other viewers.
