Pi Network Warns Users Ahead of Open Network Launch

In Summary

  • Pi Network urges users to rely on official channels and use the authentic Pi Wallet in the Pi Browser
  • The project is nearing its open network launch, with 14 million verified users out of 15 million required
  • Critics remain skeptical due to delays and unfulfilled promises
  • The final deadline for the open network launch is December 31

Catenaa, Wednesday, December 18, 2024 – The Pi Network team has issued critical safety alerts for its vast community of users, urging reliance solely on official communication channels and emphasizing the use of the authentic Pi Wallet within the Pi Browser.

The team highlighted the risks of counterfeit wallets, noting that the genuine Pi Wallet is identified by a purple navigation bar and a Pi Core Team logo.

These warnings come as the project nears a major milestone: the open network launch, tentatively scheduled for December 31. Pi Network reports that 14 million users have completed required verifications, with just 1 million pending.

However, delays and skepticism about the project’s credibility persist, with critics pointing to unfulfilled promises and postponed timelines.

The project, with a significant presence in Asia, claims over 1.34 million users in South Korea alone, surpassing the local user bases of Binance and Coinbase.

Despite its popularity and more than 100 million app downloads, Pi Network has yet to debut its native token or mainnet, leading some to label it a potential scam.

However, Pi Network’s Core Team has pledged to announce a roadmap for its open network this month, aiming to clarify when users can trade Pi tokens.
