New York, Tuesday, October 01, 2024 – Vice President Kamala Harris last week revealed her commitment to making the United States a global leader in blockchain during a speech on Wednesday.

In the upcoming US presidential election in November, fintech, particularly cryptocurrencies, have become a moot point, with Trump and Republicans being in the lead when it comes to cryptocurrencies and related fields.
The Democrats, on the other hand, were not vocal on their stance and had been seen as anti-crypto all these days.

In this context only, that Harris claimed their views on Blockchain and crypto last week.

Speaking at The Economic Club of Pittsburgh, Harris emphasized that her administration would foster innovation while maintaining a strong regulatory framework for digital assets.

Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, noted that the US must remain “dominant” in sectors shaping the next century.

In her 80-page economic plan, she highlighted digital assets as a key component of her “opportunity economy,” which seeks to encourage technological innovation while safeguarding consumers and investors.

“We will encourage innovative technologies like AI and digital assets while protecting consumers and investors,” Harris stated. “We will create a safe business environment with consistent and transparent rules of the road.”

Harris has been relatively quiet about Cryptocurrency on the campaign trail until this past weekend, when she discussed her vision for the U.S. economy during a Wall Street fundraiser.

Her remarks stand in contrast to Republican nominee Donald Trump, who has actively embraced Cryptocurrency throughout his campaign, including his recent visit to a Bitcoin-themed bar in New York City.
