Thursday, September 12, 2024 – Russia had secured nearly 54 000 BTC, worth approximately $3 billion in Bitcoin mining in 2023, Director of the Industrial Mining Association Sergey Bezdelov, has said.
The achievement would lead to an increase of 50 billion rubles ($559 million) in taxes for the government, Bezdelov added.
Earlier this month, the new regulations imposed on the bitcoin mining operations in Russia, which would elevate crypto infrastructure, attracting global industrial players and boosting Russian economic growth.
It is expected that new data centers will be established with the purchase of new equipment required in mining operations, aligning with this remarkable gain.
