SAN FRANCISCO, Thursday, July 25, 2024 – Keplr, a popular digital wallet for the Cosmos blockchain, is adding support for Ethereum and its Layer 2 networks.
The move, announced Monday, July 22, aims to broaden Keplr’s user base and position it as a multi-chain wallet solution. The app, founded by Tony Yun and Josh Lee in 2021, has amassed over 1 million monthly users.
Keplr’s integration of Ethereum compatibility will allow users to manage their Ethereum-based assets within the same interface as their Cosmos holdings. The company says this will appeal to users active in both ecosystems, as well as support emerging modular projects that combine elements of both.
The integration will use EIP-6963 for multi-injected providers to ensure a seamless user experience. Keplr expects to launch the Ethereum support in beta within weeks.
Keplr, backed by investors including Index Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and Thrive Capital, has become a dominant wallet in the Cosmos ecosystem.
